Catastrophic Success

Giving credit where credit is due, Geraldo Rivera introduced this term . . . in describing the withdrawal from Afghanistan.  A "catastrophic success" seems comparable to "disaster accomplished;" yet Geraldo tried to make it sound like a positive thing.  Catastrophic success appears to mean, running away, while having absolutely no idea of the cost, and leaving many at the mercy of terrorists.  FYI:  "merciful terrorist" seems to be an oxymoron on the level of "catastrophic success!"
